Waiting on Wednesday (42)

Waiting on Wednesday is, of course, brought to us by the lovely Jill at Breaking the Spine.

First up is:

StarCrossed by Elizabeth C. Bunce - To be released October 1st, 2010

Digger thrives as a spy and sneak-thief among the feuding religious factions of Gerse, dodging the Greenmen who have banned all magic. But when a routine job goes horribly wrong and her partner and lover Tegen is killed, she has to get out of the city, fast, and hides herself in a merry group of nobles to do so. Accepted as a lady's maid to shy young Merista Nemair, Digger finds new peace and friendship at the Nemair stronghold--as well as plenty of jewels for the taking. But after the devious Lord Daul catches her in the act of thievery, he blackmails her into becoming his personal spy in the castle, and Digger soon realizes that her noble hosts aren't as apolitical as she thought... that indeed, she may be at the heart of a magical rebellion.

(Summary from goodreads.)

Why I want this: A girl named Digger. Magic. Castle. Spies. Need I say more? Oh, plus the girl on the cover looks like a friend of mine who's absolutely insane but really fun.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan - To be released October 12th, 2010

Told in the alternating voices of Dash and Lily, two sixteen-year-olds carry on a wintry scavenger hunt at Christmas-time in New York, neither knowing quite what - or who - they will find.

(Summary from goodreads.)

Why I want this: Do I really need to tell you??? It's Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. DUH. You guys have seen me gush over Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List (wow, those are old reviews. Be nice to them, please?). So I completely and utterly cannot WAIT for Dash & Lily.

Alrighty, that's it for me for this week.

Peace and cookies,
Laina

Oh!! Also!! Do you realize today is 5/05/10? As in 5 + 5 = 10. How cool is that?
