La la la la

Ever start reading a book that starts slow and you think "Oh, it has to get better, it's got potential, beginnings are hard to write." And then maybe it picks up a little, but then the characters kinda start irritating you, but you keep reading it because you haven't read a werewolf novel in a long time and you rather miss them. And then you're on freaking CHAPTER SEVENTEEN and the only reason you're still reading it is because you're halfway done it and you'll go nuts if you don't know how it ends, but the book is starting to bug you and you wonder why you read tacky romances that you steal from your mother at all?

Anyone else ever feel like that?

  1. I know exactly how you feel! I can't say I read the same book but I know the feeling with other books I have read that slowly drove me insane!

    You have my sympathies

  3. Ha ha! I used to read my grandmother's tacky romance novels secretly when we'd go to her house. It was fun because it felt so forbidden, but yeah, sometimes I was like...why am I reading this?!

Sure, let's do a link exchange!

  5. I do, but I've been trying to learn to give myself permission to just put a book down whenever I want to. Life's too short for me to force myself through meh books :P

(And yet I keep doing it.)
